Champion Auto Equipment Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1916 in Wabash , Indiana . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Champion . Vehicles were also presented at the Chicago Automobile Show in 1916 . Production ended in 1916. A total of 167 vehicles were built.

There were no affiliations with the Champion Wagon Company and Champion Motors Corporation , which used the same brand name.

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with a displacement of 188 cubic inches . This corresponds to a displacement of 3081 cm³. The engine had an L-head and developed 36 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 279 cm . There was a choice of roadsters and touring cars .
