United States Motor Company was an American automobile manufacturing company.

Company history

Benjamin Briscoe already had some experience in automotive engineering. In 1910 he founded the company in New York City . He wanted to compete with General Motors . He acquired various smaller automobile manufacturers. In 1911 the production of automobiles of a private label called Titan began . Their production ended in 1913. The bankruptcy began on September 12, 1912 .

Titan vehicles

Only taxis that were mainly used in New York were on offer . They were based on Brush chassis and manufactured at the Brush facility in Detroit . The short wheelbase of 224 cm enabled a small turning circle . They had a single cylinder engine . This means that the operating costs should be only a third of that of an ordinary taxi. The original price was 850 US dollars . One illustration shows a landaulet .
