Rogers Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Ralph F. Rogers was from Chicago . He had developed a high wheeler in 1909 . In the same year he founded the company together with CA Overholt. The headquarters were in Omaha and the factory in nearby Ralston , both in Nebraska . Financial problems delayed the start of series production until the end of 1910 for the 1911 model year. This made the company the last to come onto the market with a highwheeler. The brand name was Rogers . Production ended in 1912. In total, fewer than 500 vehicles were built.

Only high-wheelers were on offer. The big wheels were good for the bad roads of the time. They had a two-cylinder engine with air cooling . 120.65 mm bore and 101.6 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 2323 cm³ . The engine output of 18 hp was transmitted to the rear axle via a friction gear and a chain. The chassis had a 229 cm wheelbase .

In model year 1911, there was the Series B . Versions were Model B-2 as a two-seat runabout , Model B-3 as a three-seat roadster and Model B-4 as a four-seat Surrey .

The following year it was Series C . The three-seater was omitted. The only options left were Model C-2 and Model C-4 .
