WS Reed Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

WS Reed founded the company in 1909 in Massillon , Ohio . H. McYost, FO Shoemaker and Melville Schworm were also involved. The production of automobiles began. The brand name was Massillon . Plans totaled 35 vehicles for 1909. In the same year, production stopped due to financial problems.

CP Munch from the Munch Motor Car Company took care of everything.

The vehicles had a six-cylinder engine . 114.3 mm bore and 127 mm stroke resulted in 7819 cm³ displacement and 60 hp . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft .

One version was a roadster with either two, three or four seats. The chassis had a 300 cm wheelbase . The original price was 1750 US dollars .

There were also touring cars with five and seven seats. The wheelbase was 315 cm. The vehicles cost $ 2,000.
