Keller-Kar (1914)

The Keller Cyclecar Corporation was an American automobile manufacturer in Chicago, Illinois . The company was originally founded by lawyers from Wilmington, Delaware . In 1914 a small car was built there under the name Keller-Kar . One source uses the notation Keller Kar without a hyphen.

description

The Keller-Kar was known as a cycle car. However, the 1143 cm³ engine did not meet the criteria. It should actually be equipped with a small Knight engine , which would certainly have been a unique selling point in the cycle car scene. In the end, the decision was made to use a conventional, air-cooled V2 engine from Wilson , whose power was transmitted to the rear axle via a V-belt, a friction gear and a belt drive.

The car had a tandem roadster structure (two seats arranged one behind the other) and cost US $ 375.

At the end of 1914, the Keller Cyclecar Corporation had to close its doors again.
