Eclipse Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

AS Keller, PJ Murphy and AP Schulte founded the company in 1916. The seat was in Detroit , Michigan . They made automobiles. The brand name was Eclipse . Production ended in the same year. The production of trucks , motorcycles and motor boats was at least planned, but it remains unclear whether these products were actually made.

There were no affiliations with any of the other Eclipse-branded automobile manufacturers : Eclipse Automobile Company , Eclipse Machine Company (Ohio) , Eclipse Machine Division , Krueger Manufacturing Company, and Eclipse Machine Company (Michigan) .

There were four models on offer with four different engines. The Model 28 had a four-cylinder engine with 28 hp . The wheelbase was 244 cm. The vehicles were bodied as roadsters and offered space for two people.

The Model 34 had a four-cylinder engine that was specified with 34 hp. The chassis had a wheelbase of 279 cm. An open body in the form of a touring car with space for five people was mounted on it.

The Model 40 also had a four-cylinder engine, but it made 40 hp. The wheelbase was 292 cm. The touring car had seven seats.

The Model 45 was powered by a V8 engine with 45 hp . The wheelbase and structure corresponded to the Model 40 .
