Havers Motor Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Fred and Ernest Havers founded the company in Port Huron , Michigan , in the spring of 1910 . Fred was President and Ernest was the designer. It started producing automobiles in December 1910. The brand name was Havers .

In 1912 the company moved to another plant in the same city where the Everitt-Metzger-Flanders Company was previously active. 200 vehicles were built that year.

On July 8, 1914, a fire destroyed the plant. Production ended with that. The reconstruction was announced, but failed due to financial resources. Bankruptcy began in November 1914 . In October 1915, the Puritan Machine Company took over the remains.

Only vehicles with six-cylinder engines were on offer .

In the 1911 model year , the vehicles were simply called Six . The engine developed 44 hp . The chassis had a 292 cm wheelbase . There was a choice of roadsters with two seats and touring cars with four seats.

In 1912 the designation Model Six-44 was introduced. The engine output was now given as 36/44 hp. The wheelbase has been extended to 310 cm.

In 1913, 44 hp were given again. In addition, the Six-55 model complemented the range. The engine developed 55 hp. The wheelbase was 325 cm. In addition to a five-seat touring car, there was a two-seat speed car .

In 1914 the Model Six-44 remained unchanged. The larger model became the Model Six-60 . The engine now made 60 hp. A two-seater roadster supplemented the available bodies.
