Company history

The Waldron runabout Manufacturing Company was established in the summer of 1908 in Waldron (now Aroma Park ) in Illinois founded. In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Waldron . According to a source, EO Parker was apparently president and treasurer and remained so until the company was dissolved.

At the instigation of Charles Keagle from Kankakee , a reorganization took place in 1909, which led to the new name Waldron Automobile Manufacturing Company and the relocation of the headquarters to Kankakee, Illinois.

In November 1911 there were plans to move to Beaver Dam , Wisconsin , but they were no longer carried out. Production ended in 1911. Several hundred vehicles were built in total.

Highwheelers were on offer . With their big wheels, they were well suited for the bad roads of the time. They had a two-cylinder engine with air cooling . It drove the rear axle via a friction gear and two chains.

There were three different models between 1908 and 1909. 101.6 mm bore and 114.3 mm stroke resulted in a displacement of 1853 cc . The engine developed 14 hp . Model A had a chassis with a 175 cm wheelbase . Construction was a runabout . Model B as Surrey and Model C as Runabout had 203 cm wheelbase.

From 1910 to 1911 the engine was specified with 18/20 hp. The bore was now 127 mm, the stroke 120.65 mm and the displacement 3057 cm³. Model E as a roadster had a wheelbase of 208 cm. There was also Model F as a Surrey and Model G as an open touring car , both with 239 cm wheelbase.
