Templeton-Dubrie Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles . There are also the notations Templeton-DuBrie Car Company , Templeton-Du Brie Car Company and Templeton-Du-Brie Car Company .

Company history

The company was founded on November 30, 1909 in Detroit , Michigan . The Detroit Free Press reported about it on December 1, 1909. John D. Templeton, HJ Boerth and Stanley R. Du Brie were involved. Du Brie was the designer. He later received several patents from which the spelling of his name with a space between Du and Brie emerges. In 1910 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Templeton-Dubrie . Production ended in the same year.

The vehicles were a mix of passenger cars and delivery vans . They had a two-cylinder two - stroke engine with an output of 20 hp . The engine was mounted at the front under a hood . The engine power was transmitted to the rear axle via a planetary gear and a cardan shaft . The chassis had a wheelbase of 315 cm . The original price was 1,250 US dollars .
