Howard Motor Works was an American manufacturer of automobiles and engines .

Company history

William S. Howard had previous automotive experience with the Howard Automobile Company . In 1907 he founded the company in Yonkers , New York, USA . He produced the engines for the Colt Runabout Company . From 1908 he produced automobiles of the Howard brand . Plans to move to Albany or Athens came to nothing. Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were built.

Howard later helped build some vehicles for the Munch-Allen Motor Car Company .

Other American manufacturers of Howard-brand passenger cars were: Howard Automobile Company of New Jersey , Howard Automobile Company of New York , Howard Automobile Company of Michigan , Central Car Company , A. Howard Company and Howard Motors Corporation .

The only model was similar to the last Colt model. A six-cylinder engine powered the vehicles. A special feature was that in addition to complete vehicles , kits were also offered so that buyers could assemble the vehicles themselves.
