Traveler Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Willis Copeland ran the Evansville Automobile Company . In 1910 he also founded the company in Evansville , Indiana . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Traveler . Production ended in 1911.

Other American automobile manufacturers with this brand name were Neustadt Automobile & Supply Company (1905), Bellefontaine Automobile Company (1907-1908), Traveler Motor Car Company (1913-1914) and Taxicab Manufacturing Company (1924-1925).

The vehicles resembled the Simplicity of Copeland's other company. The friction gear used was previously unprotected and caused problems with moisture. The Traveler's gearbox was better protected against the weather.

All vehicles had a four-cylinder engine with 30 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 267 cm . Model D was a runabout with four seats and Model E was an open top touring car with five seats. The new prices were 1,350 US dollars in the first year and could be reduced to 1,300 dollars in the second year.
