Deal Motor Vehicle Company , previously Deal Buggy Company and JJ Deal & Son , was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

Jacob J. Deal founded the Deal Buggy Company in Jonesville , Michigan in 1865 . He made carriages and sleighs . In 1891 the name was changed to JJ Deal & Son when his son George Varnum Deal became his partner. The son manufactured his first automobile in 1905 , which could have been followed by several others for local buyers by 1907. It wasn't until 1908, when the Deal Motor Vehicle Company was changed , to start producing automobiles on a larger scale. The brand name was Deal . George Deal died in late 1908, which had a negative impact on motor vehicle production. Omar Dickerson, a relative, now ran the company. Motor vehicle production ended in 1911. In 1913 Dickerson left the company. Carriages were made until 1915.

At least one vehicle still exists.

All models had a four-cylinder engine with 30 hp .

The Model S was available from 1908 to 1910 . The wheelbase was 259 cm. The structure was an open runabout with four seats but no doors. The vehicle had solid rubber tires , but of normal size, so it wasn't a high wheeler .

1911 from the Model C . The vehicle was bodied as a four-seater Surrey .

The Model R also appeared in 1911 . The chassis had been lengthened slightly and had a wheelbase of 264 cm. The open touring car offered space for five people.
