Findlay Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in Findlay , Ohio in 1892 . John N. Doty was President, J. Calvin Moyer Secretary, and Allen H. Moyer Manager and Treasurer. Mainly they made carriages . A few automobiles were also made in 1910 . The brand name was Findlay . They were not advertised nationwide, only sold locally. In 1911 financial problems began. In 1916 a fire destroyed the plant. The company was then dissolved.

Car

Only one model was on offer. It had a four-cylinder engine with 40 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 315 cm . The open touring car offered space for five people. The maximum speed was given as 96 km / h. The original price was 2500 US dollars .

In 1913 a hearse was made for Frank Barnhart, the head of the local funeral home . Two other undertakers from the city then also wanted vehicles.
