Suburban Motor Car Company , previously De Schaum Motor Car Company , was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

William A. de Schaum ran the De Schaum Motor Syndicate Company until 1909 . In 1910 he founded the De Schaum Motor Car Company in Detroit , Michigan . In 1911 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Suburban . De Schaum had plans for a large plant in Ecorse . Then financial problems arose. In November 1912, de Schaum had to leave the company. By then ten vehicles had been made.

RA Palmer became the new president. Another 15 vehicles were built under his leadership. Production ended in 1912.

Palmer then founded the Palmer Motor Car Company .

There were two different models in the range. Series A had a four-cylinder engine with 20 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 269 ​​cm . The only structure was a roadster . The original price was 1,200 US dollars .

The Limited , on the other hand, had a six-cylinder engine with 28 hp. The wheelbase was 274 cm. This model was also bodied as a roadster. Despite the larger engine and longer chassis, the price was on par with the smaller model.
