The Colt Runabout Company was an American automobile manufacturer in Yonkers ( New York ). The company was founded by William Mason Turner , a businessman in Yonkers since 1891.

The only model was a two-seater with a 2667 mm wheelbase, long bonnet and short rear, on which two spare tires were mounted. The car was characteristic of its time and weighed 816 kg. Its price was US $ 1500. In comparison, the mass-produced Oldsmobile Curved Dash cost US $ 650.00, Ford's “Doctor's Car” cost US $ 850.00, but the Oakland 40 cost US $ 1600.00 and the cheapest American model cost US $ 4250.00, the most expensive one cost US $ 5,250.

The runabout had a six-cylinder in-line engine with 7816 cm³ displacement, which delivered 40 bhp (29 kW) power. Colt stated the car reached 100 km / h, a respectable top speed for 1907.

As early as December 1907, the company had to file for bankruptcy. The information on the number of cars actually built varies between 2 and “less than 100” copies.
