The McCue Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded shortly after 1900 in Hartford , Connecticut . At first it made carriages . In 1908 parts for automobiles were added. Complete automobiles were produced from 1909 onwards. The brand name was McCue . Many of the parts came from the Billings & Spencer Company . The Parker Motor Company from the same city provided many of the engines. The sales figures were low. Production ended in 1911. Charles T. McCue was president and FC Billings vice president at the time.

In the late summer of 1911 there was a merger with the Superior Axle & Forge Company from Buffalo . The new company McCue Manufacturing Company introduced axles for passenger cars and trucks ago. Charles T. McCue gave up his presidential post in 1913. In the late summer of 1913, it was taken over by the Houk Wire Wheel Company .

In 1909 the range consisted of three models. What they had in common was the four-cylinder engine with 30 hp , the three-speed gearbox and cardan drive . From 1910 to 1911 there were two models. The four-cylinder engine developed 40 hp. The chassis had a uniform 312 cm wheelbase. Model 6 was bodied as a four-seat torpedo and Model XXX as a five-seat touring car.
