Carey Motor Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in New York City in 1906 . The office was in Harlem and the factory in the Bronx . The Balzer Motor Carriage Company previously had its plant on the same street in the Bronx , although the exact connection remains unclear. In 1906 the company manufactured passenger cars that were marketed as Carey . In January 1906, a vehicle was presented at the Automobile Club of America Show in New York. Only a few vehicles were built.

The rotary motor , which came from Balzer, was unusual . It was a five-cylinder engine that made 10 hp . The open body offered space for two people.
