Sidney S. Breese and Charles I. Lawrence made a prototype in Brooklyn , New York City , in 1905 . It was called Breese & Lawrence .

Company history

Breese and Lawrence founded the Brooklyn company with Andrew Moulton in 1906. In August 1906 a racing car was announced. They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was BLM , which corresponded to the first letters of their last names. In September 1907, plans for the production of 250 vehicles were announced. But already in December 1907 the bankruptcy followed .

Lawrence and Moulton started manufacturing vehicles again in their new company LM in Paris in 1913 .

The first model was a racing car. It was based on the design from 1905. The engine developed 85 hp . The original price of $ 12,000 was very high. The market success remained low.

The Pirate Runabout sports car followed in early 1907 . The engine came from Mutel in France and made 24 hp. It drove the rear axle via a cardan shaft . With the standard ratio, a top speed of 88 km / h was specified, with a special ratio even 112 km / h.
