Linton G. Tischer Tri-Car Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Linton G. Tischer ran a bicycle dealership in Peoria , Illinois , whose name has not been passed down. In 1914 he founded the automobile production company. The brand name was Tischer . Production ended in the same year. In total, only a few vehicles were sold.

Only one model was on offer. Tischer called it the Tri-Cycle Car. It was a tricycle with a single front wheel. An air-cooled V2 engine was mounted behind the front wheel. 85.725 mm bore and 98.425 mm stroke resulted in 1136 cc displacement , whereby the displacement limit for cyclecars was exceeded. The engine output of 9 hp was transmitted to the rear axle via a friction gear and belt. The chassis had a wheelbase of 218 cm and a track width of 122 cm . The body was open and offered space for two people side by side. The curb weight was about 295 kg. The original price was initially 425 US dollars and later 350 dollars.
