AD Meiselbach Motor Vehicle Company was an American manufacturer of motor vehicles .

prehistory

August D. Meiselbach manufactured bicycles in Chicago . He was also involved in the Meiselbach Typewriter Company , which manufactured typewriters . In 1903 he founded the McKaig Friction Drive Vehicle Company in Washington, DC together with the technician ET McKaig and another partner from Chicago . The factory should be in Chicago. In 1908 automobile production was announced. Nothing came of it. The partners separated without having manufactured a vehicle.

Company history

Meiselbach founded his own company in mid-1904. Partners were Fred D. Clinton, Byron R. Godfrey and AN Miller. A factory in North Milwaukee , Wisconsin was acquired. Truck production began at the end of the same year . The brand name was Meiselbach . Production ended in 1909. Only a few passenger cars were built. They were mainly used internally or by their salespeople. A second source confirms that passenger cars were built between 1904 and 1909.
