Hammer-Sommer Auto Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Henry F. Hammer, Herman A. Sommer and William J. Sommer founded the company in 1903. The seat was in Detroit , Michigan . They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Hammer-Sommer . Towards the end of the spring of 1904, the partners separated. The joint company was dissolved.

Hammer then founded the Hammer Motor Company with other partners . The rest of the summer, however, led to the Sommer Motor Car Company .

The 6.7 HP had a single cylinder engine . It was mounted under the seat and developed 6.7 hp . The front hood rose slightly towards the rear. The vehicles were thus similar to the Renault models at the time . There were three different bodies to choose from: Model A , Model B and Model C. All were open runabouts with two seats.

The 12 HP had a two-cylinder engine with 12 HP power. The design of the front corresponded to the smaller model. The chassis had a wheelbase of 203 cm . The only body shape was a five-seater touring car .
