Pacific Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1900. The seat was at 331 South Main Street in Los Angeles , California . Eight people were involved. Arthur L. Hawes was President and Lee Chamberlain was Secretary. There is evidence, according to Henry Chamberlain, that the company previously traded as Pacific Automobile Stables and operated as a dealership and repair shop. The company had big plans for the production of automobiles. The brand name was Pacific . Production ended in 1901. At least two vehicles were built in total.

There was no association with the Pacific Motor Vehicle Company and the Portland Cyclecar Company , which used the same brand name.

Electric cars were planned . They should be bodied as a runabout , stanhope and four-seater brake . Runabouts actually emerged. It is not known for sure whether they were electric cars.
