Prescott Automobile Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1901. The headquarters were in New York City and the factory in Passaic , New Jersey . In the same year the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Prescott . Production ended in 1905. AL Prescott was president, at least in the year of the dissolution.

Steam cars were on offer . They had a steam engine with two cylinders and 7.5 hp . It drove the rear axle via a chain. The chassis had a wheelbase of 173 cm . A special feature was an air pump powered by steam to inflate the tires.

From 1901 to 1902 there was the Model No. 1 . The setup was an open runabout .

From 1903 to 1905 no model designation has survived. In addition to the two-seater, there was a four-seater runabout, which had a fold-out bench at the front, as well as an open-top runabout and a Victoria-top runabout.
