Union Carriage Company was an American manufacturer of vehicles .

Company history

The company was founded in 1891 in St. Louis , Missouri . It made carriages . In 1908 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Union . In November 1908, manager CL Fleming announced that 25 vehicles had been completed and plans for 1909 would amount to 1,000 vehicles. Several hundred vehicles were possibly built afterwards. Motor vehicle production was given up at the end of 1909. Carriages were made even longer. It is not known when the company was dissolved.

Other US manufacturers of passenger cars of the brand Union were Union Electric Company , Union Automobile Company , Union Automobile Manufacturing Company , Union Sales Company and Union Automobile Company .

Motor vehicles

The first model was a high wheeler . It had an air-cooled two-cylinder engine with 12 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 178 cm . The construction of the Model A was a Victoria . The original price was 650 US dollars .

In November 1908, a runabout and a touring car with a front engine were announced. It is unclear whether these models actually made it into series production.
