Eagle Automobile Company was an American manufacturer of automobiles based in New Jersey .

Company history

Henry S. Griffin, George W. Loft, A. Gibbey Spencer, Edwin Vandewater and Frank C. Vandewater founded the company in Rahway in 1905 . They started with the production of automobiles. The brand name was Eagle . Production ended in 1907.

The two Vandewater then founded Vandewater & Co.

There were two models on offer. They had an air-cooled four-cylinder engine designed by HJ Muntz. In the 1906 model, the engine output was specified as 20/24 hp . The chassis had a wheelbase of 279 cm . It was driven by a chain. The only superstructure offered was a touring car with five seats.

Small changes have been reported for 1907. The engine now made 30 hp. The wheelbase was shortened to 274 cm. The vehicle was Model E called.
