Marinette is a city (with the status " City ") and the administrative seat of Marinette County in the US -amerikanischen State Wisconsin . In 2010 Marinette had 10,968 inhabitants. making it the county's largest city. By 2012 the population had decreased to 10,862.

Marinette lies on the south bank of the confluence of the Menominee River and Green Bay of Lake Michigan . On the opposite bank of the river is the town of Menominee , Michigan .

US Highway 41 , coming over a bridge from the Menominee, runs north-south through the urban area of Marinette. The Wisconsin State Highways 64 and 180 terminate in the city.
The city is connected to the route network of the "Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad" and to the route network of the Canadian National .
The Menominee-Marinette Twin County Airport is 3.3 km north of a small airfield. The nearest commercial airports are Austin Straubel International Airport in Green Bay (92.7 km southwest) and Sawyer International Airport near Marquette , Michigan (183 km north).
