Heike Baranowsky

Heike Baranowsky (* 1966 in Augsburg ) is a German photographer , video artist and professor of fine art.

life and work

Baranowsky studied from 1986 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Helmut Sturm , from 1991 at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg , and from 1993 at the University of the Arts in Berlin with Katharina Sieverding . From 1997 to 1999 she attended the Royal College of Art in London, where she graduated with a Master of Fine Arts (MFA).

In 2005 she became Professor of Photography at the Bergen School of Art and Design , Norway, until 2008. In 2008, she was appointed Professor of Fine Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg . In 2009 she received a fellowship for a guest stay at Villa Aurora , Los Angeles, and in 2012 a residency fellowship for Studio Voltaire in London from the Berlin Senate.

She lives and works in Berlin .
