Helmut Sturm (painter)
Helmut Sturm (born February 21, 1932 in Furth im Wald , † February 20, 2008 in Pullach near Munich ) was a German painter .
Sturm studied from 1952 to 1958 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He was a co-founder of the group SPUR , which existed from 1957 to 1965. In 1970 he co-founded the Children's Forum in the rooms of the Forumgalerie van de Loo in Munich. From 1980 to 1982 he was a visiting professor at the University of the Arts in Berlin held. In 1985 he took over the chair of Günter Fruhtrunk at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and held it until 1998. Several works by Sturm from the Otto van de Loo donation are exhibited in the Kunsthalle Emden .
Sturm died after a long and serious illness the day before his 76th birthday.
