The basilisk (English original title Dragoncharm ) is a fantasy novel by the English author Graham Edwards . The protagonists of the story are all dragons or other fantastic creatures. The basilisk is the first part of the saga of the end of the magic dragons . The German version was published by Bastei-Lübbe in 1996.

action

The basilisk tells the story of the young Fortune, a representative of the new breed of dragons who no longer have magic. He befriends the magic dragon Cumber. Together, the unlikely couple embark on an adventure in which they explore the changing world and the withdrawal of magic from it.

The novel is named after an ancient, immortal and evil creature that has awakened from its sleep. It cannot die and its rest has been disturbed.

Awards

The basilisk was nominated for Best Novel at the 1995 British Fantasy Society Awards.
