Ringenhain is a district of the Steinigtwolmsdorf community in Upper Lusatia in Saxony . The townscape is characterized by 20 half-timbered houses, including the smallest half-timbered house in Upper Lusatia.

geography

The place is on the B 98 between Steinigtwolmsdorf and Neukirch / Lausitz and stretches on both sides of the river Wesenitz , which rises at Valtenberg , flows through Ringenhain, Neukirch / Lausitz and Bischofswerda and flows into the Elbe at Heidenau . The river Wesenitz once formed the border between the Meißner and Lusatian sides of the town. Shortly after the First World War , the division was eliminated. Near the Waldhaus guest house on the road between Steinigtwolmsdorf and Neustadt in Saxony , on the Czech side, there is boundary stone No. 2/40, which marks the northernmost point of the Czech Republic.

In the vicinity of Ringenhain you can visit the Valtenberg im Hohwald , the Weifaer Höhe near Weifa , the Großer Picho near Tautewalde and the Sieben Linden viewpoint near Steinigtwolmsdorf. There is also a 7.8 km long circular hiking trail with panoramic views.
