In Tautewalde there are the sources of the butter water , a small watercourse that flows through Wilthen as a village stream and flows into the Spree at Rodewitz.

history

Tautewalde was first mentioned in a document in 1374 as Tutenwalde . Tautewalde was an independent village until it was incorporated into the city of Wilthen in 1974 . The place had its own school since 1888, which was expanded in 1912. From the mid-1970s, all students were taught in Wilthen. In 1842 a brewery with a restaurant was established in Tautewalde. After renovation and modernization, the massive walls now house the Landhotel Erbgericht. Hermann Klippel lived and worked in Tautewalde until his death in 1960 . He was a well-known dialect poet from Upper Lusatia , to whom a memorial was erected opposite the former school on September 9, 2001.

Peter Dietrich got involved in Tautewalde for the Landhotel Erbgericht.

Village structure

Today's Tautewalde consists of four settlement groups:

  • the old village in the east
  • a group of 4 farmsteads - popularly known as "the ports" - in a valley to the west
  • the Vorwerk - at the west exit of the village and
  • a housing estate on the edge of the forest of the Dahren mountain

Remarks

  1. The Landhotel Tautewalde was owned by the extended Dietrich family for a long time. Nationalized during the GDR era, it was acquired by the Dietrich Brothers construction company in 1992 and reopened in 1994 after extensive renovation. Peter Dietrich was a partner in the construction company with his brothers. He later took over the hotel with another partner. The construction company followed the tradition of the Dietrich construction company, which was founded by Peter Dietrich's grandfather in Wilthen in the 1920s and was family-owned until the 1970s.
