August Bernhardt

August Peter Bernhardt (born September 28, 1831 in Sobernheim , † June 14, 1879 in Hann. Münden ) was Prussian chief forest master and director of the Royal Prussian Forest Academy in Hann. Münden (1878–1879).

Life

Bernhardt completed a degree in law and camera science in Berlin and then studied at the Royal Prussian Forest Academy in Eberswalde . In 1864 he was employed as a forester in Hilchenbach , Westphalia, and in 1871 he was appointed conductor of the forestry research department and lecturer in forest history and statistics at the Eberswalde Forest Academy. Bernhardt was appointed in 1872 to the forester and 1875 to the Governing Council .

After his election to the Prussian House of Representatives , to which he belonged from 1873 to 1878, he played a decisive role in forest legislation in Prussia .
