The port helps
The port is helping! eV is a registered association that mediates helpers and donations in kind to recognized social institutions in the greater Hamburg area.
Goal of the registered association
The association was founded by the trained ship engineer Anja van Eijsden, who was employed by Blohm + Voss Repair at the time and who forms the core of the association with her colleagues . The "Der Hafen Hilft" association provides unconventional technical assistance and arranges urgently needed donations in kind in an unbureaucratic manner.
Internet platform
The association members use the internet platform of the same name as an important tool, so that those in need and the helpers or donors can come together. The helpers can offer their labor here, potential donors can list their used donations in kind and social organizations register their wishes here. The aid projects ("Here was helped") are shown as additional functions on the homepage in the guest book, which means that the helpers and supporters can quickly see the sense of achievement.
As donations in kind, decommissioned but operational TV sets or well-preserved pieces of furniture from cruise ships waiting for renovation in the shipyard were given to social institutions. The double-sided benefit, there is no disposal and needy agencies receive help, satisfy the helpers and the association members.

About 40 companies, especially from the shipyard, shipbuilding supply industry and port , are now among the supporters of this project. They can also be found on the association's homepage to strengthen motivation.
