The hare next door ( engl. Untalkative Bunny ) is a Canadian - British animated series , which was produced 2001-2004. It is based on the short film Untalkative Bunny by Graham Falk .

The action takes place in the Big City . In every story, the rabbit next door deals with the problems of the modern world and makes interesting and exciting discoveries. A special feature is that the rabbit never speaks - he expresses his feelings through strongly pronounced facial expressions and gestures . Each episode consists of five stories, each lasting about five minutes. In Germany these stories were shown in a different order than in the original.

Characters

The rabbit next door is a rabbit that never speaks. He lives in an apartment. His gender is not clearly defined. The rabbit next door is always ready to explore his world and try new things.

The squirrel is the rabbit's best friend. It lives with its children in a tree in the park and often comes to visit its friend. The squirrel never speaks either.

The emu lives one floor above the hare. Often he complains about his neighbor, whom he doesn't like very much.

The howler monkey is another neighbor of the hare. Once he tries to eat the rabbit next door - without success.

Production and publication

The series was produced by Dynomight Cartoons and Treehouse Productions from 2001 to 2004 under the direction of Graham Falk . Wayne Bartlett and David Burns were responsible for the music. The series aired from April 15, 2001 to May 2004 by Teletoon in Canada.

In Germany , some of the episodes were broadcast by Super RTL .
