The failed state (engl. Failed States: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy ) is the title of a 2006 book published by Noam Chomsky .
Chomsky describes the development of US policy in recent years and concludes that the increasing disregard for international treaties and agreements shows the failure of the US government . The terrorist threat has increased instead of falling as intended.
