Des Geyer's black heap is a German medieval band. Their name refers to the peasant wars in which the knight Florian Geyer sat at the head of a group of rebellious peasants.

Albrecht Schmidt-Reinthaler founded the group in 1983 as "Spielmann Albrecht" together with Ulrich von Olnhausen. Since separating in 1999, the new formation with Martin Ernst as "Brother Martin" and Ralf Glenk as "Ralf the String Gripper" was on the move in the tradition of the minstrels. Martin Ernst and Ralf Glenk were replaced in 2011 by Andreas Berg (wind instruments, harpsichord, percussion) and Bernd Settgast (various string instruments). Her song repertoire is performed to a large extent on numerous replicated historical instruments.

The former members Thomas Roth, Albert Dannenmann and Jost Pogrzeba played medieval music with rock elements together with Georg Hesse, Maik Walter and Elias Maier until June 2014 under the name of Geyers .
