Det Norske Solistkor is a Norwegian choir founded in 1949 by Knut Nystedt in collaboration with Kåre Siem as a professional ensemble with high performance standards . From 1951 the choir was directed by Nystedt, who in 1990 passed the direction to Grete Pedersen .

Apart from the opera choir, “Det Norske Solistkor” is the only professional choir in Norway. He completed tours a. a. to Germany, France and the USA. In 1978 the choir visited Korea, Hong Kong and Thailand, as well as China (1982) and Israel (1984 and 1988).

The regular cast currently consists of 26 singers, but varies depending on the repertoire.
