German and international tin figure exchange in Kulmbach
The German and international tin figure exchange is a visitor / trade fair for tin figures that takes place every two years in Kulmbach . It assumes the role of the leading trade fair in this area .
history
For the first time, the forerunner of the fair called the stock exchange took place on a small scale in 1937. There were no events from 1940 to 1952 due to the war. The first post-war exchange was held in 1953. With the steady growth, beginning in 1969, a count began, so that in 2009 the (official) "22nd German and international tin figure exchange" was held.
Fair time
The fair takes place every two years at the beginning of August in years with an uneven end of the year following the Kulmbacher Beer Week . It is open from Friday to Sunday noon.
Fair location
The stock exchange always takes place in Kulmbach. In the beginning, the stock exchange locations there included the vocational school in Georg-Hagen-Strasse (1975–1977), the Kulmbach-Weiher school center (1979–1983), and the Sandler-Halle (1985). Since 1987 the venue has been the beer tent of the Kulmbacher Beer Week in the middle of Kulmbach on the central car park.
Exhibitors
The currently around 200 exhibitors come from Germany, Belgium, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, the Czech Republic and the USA.
Exhibition catalog
The exhibition catalog is called an almanac . In addition to the greetings, it contains various information on various specialist topics since the last exchange, a description of the respective conference figure, manufacturer overviews and advertisements from the exhibiting manufacturers.
competition
A pewter figure competition is part of the exchange. Painted flat and fully plastic individual figures, groups and dioramas in different performance classes are shown by collectors in the different categories in an exhibition. On Sunday morning, the winners in the individual categories will be presented and awarded. Kulmbach is the most important competition in Germany for collectors of flat pewter figures.
