German expert group for dementia care

The German Expert Group Dementia Care eV ( DED ) is a professional association of people from different professional groups. It sees itself as representing the interests of people with dementia and those who care for, accompany and care for them. DED was founded in 1997 and holds workshops for its members and the interested public twice a year.

aims

The aim of DED is to collect the existing expert knowledge on the care of people with dementia , to disseminate this knowledge and thus to improve their care and support. DED wants to:

  • improve understanding of people with dementia and their behavior,
  • work together with suitable cooperation partners to improve the framework conditions (appropriate human and material resources),
  • Make offers for quality development in the care and support of people with dementia and
  • Support research in the field of care for people with dementia.

Working and specialist conferences

DED organizes workshops for members and interested parties twice a year on current topics in the field of care for people with dementia . The focus is on the exchange of knowledge and experience. DED also organizes specialist conferences for the interested public at irregular intervals.

German quality alliance for dementia

The German Dementia Quality Alliance (DQD) is part of DED. The DQD is an association of geriatric care facilities that use the IQM - dementia quality management system developed by DED . The IQM - Dementia is a quality management system especially for care facilities with dementia care.
