The German Society for Hyperthermia e. V. (DGHT) is a non-profit association for the dissemination and establishment of therapeutic hyperthermia in everyday clinical practice, for further education and training in this sector as well as for further research in this area.

Purpose of the association

The purpose of the association is the scientific research into therapeutic hyperthermia . In particular, she deals with their research, clinical establishment and education and training in this therapy sector. In addition to the scientific exchange in the journal Die Naturheilkunde / Forum Complementary Oncology , the Society meets annually for a hyperthermia congress in order to ensure professional exchange between research, science and application.

history

The association was founded on June 21, 1996. Its early members included therapy users, researchers and manufacturers in the field of hyperthermia technology. The first publication of the society was the specialist magazine Forum Hyperthermie , since 2010 the DGHT has published its association news in the specialist magazine Die Naturheilkunde. After 16 years of presidency of the doctor and clinic director Holger Wehner (Wilhelmshaven), former chief physician of the Von Ardenne Clinic for Systemic Cancer Multi-Step Therapy and Rehabilitation , he handed over the office to Hüseyin Sahinbas (Bochum) in 2018. From September 30 to October 2, 2016, the Society held the VII Hyperthermia Congress in Berlin, thereby marking its 20th anniversary.
