The German Society for Public Health eV (DGPH) is the interdisciplinary and multi-professional association of institutions, organizations and specialist societies for public health in Germany. It was founded in 1997. Its headquarters are in Berlin . Membership has also been open to individuals since 2017.

aims

The aim is to strengthen public health in research, teaching, politics and practice. The association also acts as an umbrella company for institutions, organizations and specialist societies in the field of public health. The company has set itself the goal of strengthening the field of public health and making it more visible to the public nationally and internationally. This is to be achieved through:

  • Establishing and maintaining national and international collaborations in public health,
  • Intensification of the exchange between science, practice and politics,
  • constant further development of public health research, teaching and practice.

The objectives and tasks of the DGPH are mainly processed in the departments.

Activities also include participating in or initiating statements on current public health topics as well as conceptual participation in specialist conferences.
