The German Quarter Horse Association (DQHA) is Germany's oldest western horse association.

The association

The DQHA was founded on November 22nd, 1975 in Erftstadt and is a subsidiary of the world's largest horse breeding association, the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), based in Amarillo , Texas. The aim is to breed American Quarter Horses . About 37,000 quarter horses live in Germany, more than anywhere else outside of the American continent. About 7000 members maintain breeding and keeping and western riding .

With “Quarter Horse Journal”, the association sells its own specialist magazine, which appears monthly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
