German crude steel community

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Deutsche Rohstahlgemeinschaft was a cartel from the interwar period consisting of various product groups or sub-sectors and at the same time a member or negotiating partner in the international steel cartel . The raw steel community was a subset of the German Steelworks Association and, like this one, had its seat in the Stahlhof in Düsseldorf. In the literature, there is and was often not a precise distinction between the two associations. There is evidence, however, that the crude steel community was a separate cartel until 1939.

history

The German Crude Steel Community was founded in 1924 as a national umbrella cartel . It was soon given the prospect of a cross-border association formation on the European continent, because the product groups (e.g. semi-finished products) that could be used for such a cartel were brought together in it. Central sales outlets, i.e. individual syndicates , had been set up for the products in question . Between 1926 and 1929 and then again between 1933 and 1939, the German Crude Steel Community was a member of the International Steel Cartel , which broke up when the Second World War broke up. From 1940 the crude steel community became a de facto compulsory cartel . In 1942 it became part of the Steering Association of the Reichsvereinigung Eisen , and was completely dissolved in 1943.
