Participant German Championship 2017/18

The German championship in underwater rugby has been held regularly since 1971 and has been an official competition since 1972. It is played as a two-day tournament with eight teams that initially compete in two groups of four teams each.

The three best-placed teams from the top two leagues in the West and South and the two best-placed teams from the North qualify for the qualifying games at the end of each season. The German champion qualifies to take part in the Champions Cup , where the champions from all countries fight for the title of the best club team.

Special regulation DM 2008

Because the southern teams occupied all medal places in 2007, the fourth-placed southern team was also admitted in 2008. The nine teams played in three groups. Thanks to a round of hope, there were still the usual finals in the end. Due to weaknesses in this mode, the previous one with eight teams has been used again since 2009.
