The German umbrella organization for Geoinformation eV (DDGI) is an advocacy for participants of the geographic information industry in Germany . The DDGI is currently the only national association in the industry.

The DDGI is entered in the register of associations and registered with the German Bundestag as a discussion partner for parliamentarians . As an association, it is committed to the dissemination and use of geographic information in Germany. Its members are associations, companies, NGOs, state authorities, research institutions and private individuals.

As a member of EUROGI (European umbrella organization for geoinformation), the DDGI is the mouthpiece of German interests in European politics and economy. The DDGI was founded in 1994 with the decisive involvement of President of the Land Surveying Office of North Rhine-Westphalia, Klaus Barwinski . The office has been in Wuppertal since 2008 . Udo Stichling has been president since 2008.
