The German Federfußballbund eV, or DFFB for short, is the umbrella organization for spring football in Germany.

The DFFB was founded on March 6, 1999 in AktivTreff Bechelte Park in Hagen, Westphalia. Founding members were Olaf Völzmann, Harald Felgenhauer, Karsten-Thilo Raab, Volker Hollmann, Barbara Figge, Peter von Rüden (all Federfußballclub Hagen 1991 eV), Axel Krüger (Dortmunder TG) and Nadine Fischer and Ulrich Fischer (both TV Lipperode). Peter von Rüden was appointed the founding president and Ulrich Fischer as his deputy. The DFFB is a member of the world spring football association, the International Shuttlecock Federation (ISF), and the European spring football association, the Shuttlecock Federation of Europe (SFE).

Competitions

In Germany, the DFFB organizes not only a league operation, which is currently divided into four divisions with the Bundesliga as the highest, but also individual ranking competitions for women and men as well as for male and female youth in various age groups. In each age group, the best 16 qualify for the German championships. In addition, ranking competitions and national title fights in doubles as well as German championships in singles and doubles for seniors in the age group over 35 are played. The German team champion is determined in four round match days of the Bundesliga.

International competitions

As the most important European team competition for clubs alongside the Hungarian Open in Hungary, the German Open is organized in Germany. The host of the premiere event in 1994 was the Hagen spring football club. The oldest spring football club in Europe also hosted the 3rd World Cup in 2002. In 2003, SKF Weitmar organized the first European championships in Bochum.
