German calibration service

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The German Calibration Service ( DKD ) has been a body of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt since May 3rd, 2011 , which continues the work of the specialist committees of the DKD before 2010. The new DKD ensures the cooperation of accredited calibration laboratories with the PTB.

Before it was transferred to the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) on December 17, 2009, the German Calibration Service (DKD) was an amalgamation of calibration laboratories in industrial companies, testing institutions, technical authorities and the like. It should ensure a metrological or metrological infrastructure in Germany, in addition to the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) as the highest metrological authority.

In order to become a member of the DKD, the calibration laboratory had to prove its personnel and metrological competence within the framework of an accreditation . It was then entitled calibrations to the accredited measurements to perform and measurement areas and a DKD calibration certificate documenting. This DKD calibration certificate was valid due to the accreditation and the associated monitoring of the capabilities of the calibration laboratory as proof of traceability according to ISO 17025 and ISO 9001 .

The DKD was a member of the European Cooperation for Accreditation (EA). The DKD calibration certificate was recognized as binding in a large number of countries through multilateral agreements. In addition, more than 50 accreditation bodies from more than 40 countries - including the DKD - had signed a first global agreement on mutual recognition since November 2000, the "Mutual Recognition Agreement" (MRA) of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC). With this, the signatories mutually undertake to recommend and promote the recognition of calibration certificates and test reports from the laboratories accredited by the partners. (The exact wording of the agreement can be found on the Internet at www.ilac.org.)

The first accreditation by the DKD took place in 1977 and was sold to the company HBM in Darmstadt in the fields of electrical direct current - and NF -Sizes, torque , force and pressure forgiven.

In the DKD technical committees, the heads of the DKD calibration laboratories worked out guidelines for the calibration of the measured variables and related topics, such as: B. the determination of measurement uncertainties .
