German middle class

Deutscher Mittelstand ( Union of German Middle Class Parties , abbreviation: UDM, short name: Mittelstand ) was a party in the Federal Republic of Germany .

It ran for the 1957 Bundestag election and achieved 36,592 votes (0.1%), but only had a list in 3 out of 10 federal states ( Lower Saxony , North Rhine-Westphalia and Bavaria ). In the same year, the party also ran for the state elections in Hamburg and achieved 3594 votes (0.4%). The chairman of the party was the former member of the Reichstag for the Reich Party of German Middle Classes, Carl Freybe .
