German State Railroad Car Association

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Deutscher Staatsbahnwagenverband (DWV) was an association of the German state railways founded in 1909 .

tasks

The purpose of the association was to ensure a permissive exchange of freight wagons between the member railway administrations. In contrast to the Prussian State Railroad Car Association, the German State Car Association was able to enforce a uniform car design for all of Germany, and a total of eleven different types of wagon were developed; this led to the freight wagons of the association design . In addition to complete freight wagons, types of bogies were also specified.

In addition, the DWV offset the charges for the use of the wagons of other railways between the railways involved.

The End

When the Deutsche Reichsbahn was founded on April 1, 1920, the DWV ceased its work.
