Diário Catarinense (DC for short) is a Brazilian daily newspaper in tabloid format . It was founded on May 5, 1986 and appears in Florianópolis , the capital of the state of Santa Catarina .
The newspaper belongs to Rede Brasil Sul de Comunicação , part of the largest Latin American media group Grupo Globo .
